Our system furniture. The Shannon registrar
It is probably the first industrial add-on cupboard and therefore the first system furniture ever. Developed in Cincinnati at the end of the 19th century, the furniture was patented in England in 1896 and manufactured there by the Shannon Registrar Co. In Germany, the registrator was manufactured and sold with great success from the 1920s onwards by the joineries of Gebrüder Aug. Zeiss & Co. in Berlin. Our current version is made in a cabinetmaker's workshop in Württemberg - from the solid, vividly grained wood of the fireland cherry (stained and silk-matt lacquered). This species of beech, which belongs to the hardwoods, grows in extensive stands in southern South America (ours in Chile).
Real system furniture. Room-filling or solitary
The elements of the Shannon registrar available from us, which we present to you here, can be put together entirely according to your wishes - as stand-alone furniture as well as a room-filling furnishing solution. The registrar can be used as a home library for the living room and as a cupboard system for the office as well as a sideboard, chest of drawers and buffet for the kitchen, living room and dining room. You can equip the Registrator with functional accessories and various interior partitions or complete it with matching supplementary furniture such as roller shutter cabinets **The system ** The basic structure of the system follows a few simple principles: all units are 880 mm wide. One or more carcase elements (three depths: 28, 34 and 40 cm) are stacked on top of a flat or high plinth element. The upper end is formed by an optional cornice element. The resulting segments can be arranged individually or in any number next to each other and can even be placed around corners **The connection of the system elements ** Each stacking element is provided with holes at the top and pins at the bottom, which allow the elements to be securely fitted together. A plinth supports the whole and a finishing rim crowns it. If an end cap is not required, wooden rosettes are available to cover the holes in the top element (4 rosettes are supplied with each element). The tool-free construction of the modular system makes it easy to assemble and disassemble, which is extremely practical when moving, renovating or extending the system.

Brighter. Lights. White
In order to relativize the visual dominance and heaviness of the furniture, we have now had an opaque white lacquered and thus a much lighter, lighter version of the highly functional classic built. We were so impressed by the result that we are presenting it here and are now offering all 50 or so elements of the Registrator system with a white lacquered surface. The white version of the Registrator is clearly defined without appearing dominant. Thanks to its light neutrality, the system furniture opens up a wide range of combination options - it blends just as easily into an opulently designed environment as it does into a sober, functional room. Even smaller rooms remain open and bright thanks to the straight lines of the furniture.
Complete offer
These pieces of furniture are our ready-made complete offers, which we have put together from elements of the Registrator specifically for a wide variety of uses and installation locations (dining room, living room, office, hallway and music room) and offer them to you at a lower complete price. This allows you to purchase a self-contained piece of furniture that works on its own without having to deal with the Registrator system in detail. Of course, you can also combine this complete piece of furniture with other elements from the Registrator system at any time. Naturally, the complete furniture is supplied without decoration.
Base elements
You can choose between three plinth elements: the classic high plinth and the more modern flat plinth, which are available in depths of 28, 34 and 40, as well as the high plinth with drawer. It is only available in depth 40. The high plinths are 194 mm high and slightly contoured on the outside. On the flat plinth, which is only 54 mm high, the registrar combinations look slimmer and more "functional". However, they cannot then be combined with the roller shutter units. In any case, you should opt for a continuous plinth height, as otherwise there will be an unattractive height offset.
Cupboard elements.
The versatile cabinet elements form the core and starting point of the system. They are suitable for all typical book formats from paperbacks to illustrated books or files, but also for crockery and much more. They have a door that swings upwards. The two larger ones each come with a shelf. For the door panels, you can choose between clear glass, satin-finished glass on one side and a wooden panel. The cabinet elements are available in all three system depths (28, 34 and 40). As the depth increases, so does the height of the elements. A classic, recessed design can be realized with cabinet elements of different depths.
Shelving elements
The simple open shelving units do not have visible or dust-protecting doors. They are only available in a depth of 28 cm for use in the upper section of a recessed superstructure or for a continuous superstructure of shallow depth. The height of the small shelf unit corresponds to the height of two wardrobe units 28; the large shelf unit corresponds to the combined height of one carcase unit 40 and one carcase unit 34.
Drawer units. Three versions in two heights
The drawer units are designed as floor-level units for shoes, cutlery or table linen. They are available in two heights with a depth of 40 cm only. The drawer units with six and three drawers have the same dimensions as wardrobe unit 40 and can replace it in the lower section of a tall unit. However, you can also build a chest of drawers with two high drawer units on top of each other. The drawer unit with one drawer is suitable as an additional intermediate level on a carcase unit 40 or as the end of a sideboard.
Additional components
These components are a supplement for furniture made from the system elements.
Wreath elements. The crowning glory
The cornice elements consist of a framed solid wood panel that is beveled towards the front. They provide a visual finish to the topmost element and are a particularly good formal counterpart to the classic high plinth. However, their use is not mandatory. The cornice elements are available for each of the three cabinet depths on offer.
