Plant berry bushes

After the Ice Saints, a mulch layer should be applied under all berry bushes and hedges, as well as fruit trees. The soil is now well warmed (a layer of mulch before would reflect sunlight and delay soil warming), and from now on it is important to keep the soil moist and suppress weed growth.

To prevent so-called trickling (the shedding of flowers as a natural reaction to unfavorable conditions) in spring when berry bushes are in bloom, water during prolonged drought and keep the soil evenly moist.

Many diseases in the orchard, if detected early, can be controlled without the use of pesticides and their spread in the garden can be prevented.
