Werkhaus’s intelligent design principle is surprisingly simple and eliminates the need for tools during assembly: The individual parts, made of sturdy, dimensionally stable HDF (high-density fiberboard)—a panel material consisting primarily of fine wood fibers, glue, and water—are precisely cut using CNC machines. The parts are joined by inserting the tongue—which is grooved on both sides—of one panel through a slot in the second panel and securing it on the outside with a rubber ring.

Traditionally tanned leather is alive, fragrant, and breathable. Use, sun, and rain transform the leather; it becomes more supple, and its color also changes.
