This necklace by Ménard is remarkable because it allows for several very different ways of wearing it. Its base element is a stainless steel tube chain in the form of a finely woven Milanese knit. It is flexible and lies perfectly against the skin, yet always retains its beautiful, round shape. The most important feature of a classic necklace is the visual emphasis on the center, which rests on the décolleté. This function is fulfilled here by a striking solitaire made of the famous Murano glass, named after the lagoon island of the same name near Venice. It is olive green, irregularly shaped, and has a matte, stone-like appearance with a gentle play of light. This solitaire is held in place between the end caps of the tubular band using bayonet clasps. Due to the high working and social standards, short transport routes and technical expertise, Ménard relies largely on Germany as a location: the silver clasps, for example, come from the gold town of Pforzheim, stones and chains from the gemstone town of Idar-Oberstein. It is worth noting that Ménard works specifically with refineries that only use recycled silver and gold for its precious metals.
