Nowadays, very few work exclusively with solid wood. For a Sauerland cabinetmaker's art it is still a matter of course. According to designs of the designer Laura Blanke, the bowls presented here are worked there, and that from solid oak and with the help of the milling machine. Milling work is valuable and costly, because it is more time-consuming than it first appears to machine all the peculiarities of the material and to bring out the natural grain of the wood. The hand-sanded smooth wood is finally oiled, on the one hand to maintain its surfaces and on the other hand to emphasize the typical oak pattern even more. Use the oak bowls as fruit or serving bowls, decorate them seasonally with twigs and candles - or just enjoy their shapeliness.
