Wooden kitchen utensils such as wooden spoons, chopping boards and knife handles are exposed to constant stress through regular use and contact with food. They therefore need preservative care that is suitable for contact with food without hesitation in order to stop the signs of time. So what could be more obvious than producing a food-based wood care product? No sooner said than done. Originally developed exclusively for Konrad Horsch kitchen products (some of which we also have in our range), the "woodButter" produced by Ingo Lomp from linseed oil and beeswax is naturally suitable for the care of all wooden kitchen utensils. Linseed oil has been used for centuries not only in the kitchen and in cosmetics, but also - especially in Scandinavia - for the natural impregnation of wooden building elements such as windows, doors and facades. Cold-pressed, raw linseed oil in particular - here from traditional Lusatian production - penetrates particularly deeply into the wood, settles into the pores and forms a permanent bond. A proportion of around 20% beeswax in beekeeper quality also ensures the paste-like consistency of the "woodButter", which makes it easier to apply, while at the same time sealing the wood surface and preventing moisture from penetrating.
