Lanius crafts these comfortable Marlene-style pants from heavy jersey, an interlock jersey that is heavier, has a more substantial feel, and features a finer weave—making it more durable than regular jersey. It also retains its shape very well. Heavy jersey is knitted from a wide variety of materials. In this case, it consists largely of Lyocell (TENCEL™), a regenerated fiber derived from wood sourced from controlled forests. A small amount of spandex is also added, which gives the double-knit fabric greater elasticity. The skin-friendly fabric has a soft feel and a beautiful, flowing drape. It is also particularly breathable—truly ideal for the warmer months. These fastenerless pants feature a comfortable fit with wide, straight legs, an elastic waistband, and a subtle fly. Offset side seams visually slim the silhouette. Pockets have been deliberately omitted to emphasize clean lines.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
