Designed as a reversible vest, it can be worn in various ways depending on the weather and your needs. One side features a quilted knit made of wool and a blend of cashmere—warm, temperature-regulating, and soft against the skin. The high-closing collar is crafted from the soft knit fabric on both sides. In cold, wet weather, you can simply turn the vest inside out so that the wind- and water-repellent polyester fabric is on the outside. Spanish designer Javier Goyeneche has found his own way to combat raw material waste. Since 2012, his label Ecoalf has been producing fashion made from recycled fibers. A key project is “Upcycling the Oceans,” founded in 2015, in which more than 4,000 fishermen and fisherwomen from Spain, Thailand, Greece, Italy, France, and Egypt now recover plastic waste from the ocean. This waste is transformed into yarn, which is then used to create clothing, shoes, and accessories. In addition, Ecoalf is also involved in recycling textile fibers, specifically cotton and wool—and finally, Ecoalf has also mastered the challenge of repurposing old car tires as outsoles for shoes.
