It is a long-standing tradition that garden spades with a narrow—and thus slightly lighter—blade are categorized under the term “women’s spades.” Even if this category seems somewhat outdated from today’s perspective, one of the undeniable advantages of such tools—classified as “small and light”—is their lower weight. The Krumpholz family knows a thing or two about forging. Based in the Franconian Forest, their ancestors acquired their first own hammer mill - the Guttenberger Hammer - in 1799 and were already producing tools and other everyday objects from forged iron back then. Today, the company's fortunes are in the hands of the eighth generation.
