Boiled wool is a material with many positive properties: it warms very well, regulates the climate and is breathable. It is robust, keeps its shape, is resistant to dirt and is also wind and water repellent to a certain extent. These qualities create the ideal conditions for a blouson like this and make it a comfortable companion for the cool season. LangerChen manufactures the outer material from pure wool from controlled organic animal husbandry. The lining is made from 100% Lyocell (TENCEL™), a regenerative cellulose fiber obtained from wood that comes from certified sources. The material is breathable and feels silky-soft and pleasantly smooth against the skin, making it easier to put on and take off. Recycled polyester is used for the warming filling.

However, the blouson doesn't just score points for the materials used. The purist look, slightly cropped fit and detailed features are also impressive across the board. The metal zipper can be fastened up to the stand-up collar, above which there is a wind-repellent placket with press studs. Metal eyelets under the armpits ensure good ventilation. Topstitched pleats give the blouson shape and visually slim the silhouette. The width of the hem can be adjusted using a drawstring. Two slit pockets with press studs and three inside pockets, one of which has a zipper, safely store small items for everyday use.

Fair fashion from China? It's possible! Miranda Chen and Philipp Langer prove it with their fair and resource-conscious fashion "made in China" - timeless, functional and durable. Back in 2009, the two founded the textile manufacturer Jiecco not far from Shanghai, where all of their collections are produced today. Their passion for fashion and expertise in fabric development laid the foundation for the fashion label LangerChen, which was launched five years later.

Since its foundation, the GOTS-certified manufacturer Jiecco has specialized in the production of eco-fair fashion. Good working conditions, a pleasant working environment and living wages are the top priorities here. When choosing materials, LangerChen relies on cotton and linen from controlled organic cultivation, virgin wool from controlled organic animal husbandry, Lyocell (TENCEL™) and fibers made from recycled plastic. Almost all of the fabrics used for the collections are developed in-house. Every step of the process, from processing the yarns to the final product, takes place directly on site with short distances.
