This casual slip-on blouse is inspired by the classic vareuse, the traditional fisherman's shirt. Although it has short sleeves, it has a classic design with an insert, a buttoned slit and a fold-down collar. The button, which closes the slit at the neckline together with a loop, is made of bamboo. The fabric is perfect: linen has a smooth, firm feel, it has a cooling effect when worn and is breathable. Armor lux uses a washed linen for this slip-on blouse, which adds a matching Used look to the casual cut.

“Armor” is the Breton word for “sea,” and “lux” can only refer to the light on the coast. To this day, many of the garments produced by Armor lux retain a maritime character—sweaters and shirts, dresses, pants, hats, caps, and scarves. Founded in Quimper in the late 1930s by a Swiss entrepreneur, the company combines simple, comfortable cuts, classic colors, and uncompromising quality in both materials and craftsmanship. A significant portion of the collection is still manufactured at the company’s headquarters in France— Armor lux also operates production facilities in other countries.
