These leather boots impress with their bold look and exceptional comfort. In addition to the striking front zipper, which makes putting them on and taking them off a breeze, the rugged treaded sole made of thermoplastic rubber really catches the eye. It gives the boot its contemporary chunky character, insulates against cold from the ground, provides good shock absorption, and offers excellent grip on almost any surface.

Supple. Vegetable-tanned cowhide leather on the outside and inside

The upper is made of supple, vegetable-tanned Wernebi nappa leather, which is produced exclusively for Werner. The hides used come from Alpine cattle raised in the immediate vicinity of the tannery, eliminating the need for the intermediate preservation that is often required before tanning. Furthermore, after the purely vegetable-based tanning process, the tannery refrains from any further surface finishing, which emphasizes the leather’s natural character. The lining and the lightly padded insole, made of soft, vegetable-tanned cowhide, ensure all-around comfort and a healthy foot environment. The insole is removable and can be replaced with your own insoles if desired.

The result is a chunky boot that is as comfortable as it is distinctive. It pairs perfectly with slim-fit pants and cropped jeans, but can also be combined with a knit dress or tulle skirt for a deliberate style contrast.

Two aspects characterise Werner shoes: natural leathers – if in any way possible chrome-free and vegetable tanned – and a comfortable feel thanks to tried and tested fittings. The family business founded in 1911 is, after all, still in line with its traditional claim to produce beautiful and good shoes. What once began with sturdy work and hiking boots developed into a range comprising chic après-ski boots in the 1970s and 80s and progressed up to the current collection of (casual) shoes for men and women, some sporty, some rather elegant. Werner also actively follows new developments in the leather market. For instance, some shoes feature a lining made of olive leather®. In the tannery, they use olive leaves (residues that accumulate during the annual pruning of the trees), the resulting leather is very skin-friendly. For many years, Werner shoes were made at the company’s founding place in Pirmasens. Today the “quilters” and “nippers” work in south-eastern Europe. The raw materials come from Germany and the neighbouring European countries –in unvaryingly guaranteed high quality –, keeping transport distances as short as possible.

The outsole may leave colored marks on the shoe or floor due to abrasion.
