Since the 1970s, this classic has been an indispensable part of the fashion world, though flared jeans have long since shed their hippie image. Their cut resembles a funnel: form-fitting at the hips and thighs and flaring widely from the knee down. Lanius crafts these pants from a denim with a washed-out look, made from certified organic cotton, elastomultiester, and spandex, which makes them comfortable against the skin, stretchy, and dimensionally stable. The jeans feature a mid-rise waistband, two side pockets, and two patch back pockets. They fasten with a zipper and button.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
