Among domestic sheep breeds, the wool from Merino sheep—with a fiber fineness of 16.5 to 24 microns—is the softest. It keeps you warm in cool weather and helps regulate body temperature on summer days. And since it doesn’t scratch the skin, even those with sensitive skin feel completely comfortable in merino wool. But this sweater has what it takes to become a favorite not only because of how it feels but also because of how it looks. The classic Fair Isle patterns on the circular-knit shoulder yoke and across the sleeve cuffs add vibrant and colorful accents. The neck, sleeves, and body are finished with fine ribbing. The long cuffs on the sleeves can also be worn turned up.
