The seal determines the success of the canning process. This was true more than 100 years ago, when the Weck® principle was invented, and it hasn’t changed since. In other words: Without the spring-loaded stainless steel preserving clips, nothing works. They hold the lid and jar together and apply the necessary pressure to the rubber ring—also known as the preserving ring—which is placed on the rim of the jar. You’ll need two clips per Weck® jar. Convenient: As soon as the contents of the jar have cooled completely, you can remove the clamps and reuse them for the next canning session. The canning clamps can even be washed in the cutlery basket of the dishwasher.

These preserving jars from Weck® are so famous that the term “Einwecken” has long since become a household phrase. It’s great that, after a long hiatus, they’re now available from us again. We source these storage jars from the company’s original location, which was known as J. Weck GmbH & Co. KG until 2023 and now operates under the new name Weck Glass and Packaging GmbH.
