There’s (almost) nothing these large Weck® preserving jars can’t handle. They safely store your supplies—but in so many different ways! You can pickle whole fruits and vegetables in them. You can preserve that extra batch of compote or red fruit jelly, because if you ever find yourself needing to feed a large, impromptu group of guests, you’ll be glad to find a dessert for everyone on your pantry shelf. You can ferment cabbage, carrots, and other vegetables—for example, to make homemade kimchi. You can just as easily use these Weck® jars in their inviting 900-ml size for a picnic with friends, such as by preparing salads and other dishes to take along. By the way, Weck® refers to this preserving jar as a “tilt-and-pour jar” because its conical—or rather, truncated cone-shaped—form, which has no corners or indentations (called “shoulders”), offers a distinct advantage: its contents can be easily and completely emptied by simply tilting the jar. This feature proves particularly useful if you ever want to use these large jars to store homemade bread and cakes, pies, and terrines. After all, that’s entirely possible, since the canning jars are, of course, oven-safe. We offer them in packs of two.

These preserving jars from Weck® are so famous that the term “Einwecken” has long since become a household phrase. It’s great that, after a long hiatus, they’re now available from us again. We source these storage jars from the company’s original location, which was known as J. Weck GmbH & Co. KG until 2023 and now operates under the new name Weck Glass and Packaging GmbH. So the preserving jars we offer come from Bonn, where they’re also professionally packaged in sets for shipping (a fact that we’re particularly pleased about). The only items you’ll need to order separately are the preserving rings and clips.
