Training with the WaterRower alone almost feels like real rowing on the water: thanks to the gentle sound of the water and the soft, continuous resistance, which can be varied by the strength of the pull and the number of strokes. The simulation becomes even more realistic with the FlowRow Balance Board, because now it gets wobbly. The middle section of the FlowRow is movable, so the upper board is flexibly mounted. If the entire rowing machine is placed on the two boards, the "boat" starts to sway or tilt sideways. While rowing, the rowing stroke must be executed with particular concentration and precision in order to maintain balance. This presents the trainee with a new challenge, but also perfects the rowing simulation, especially as the deep muscles and coordination now have to work even harder - just like on the water. And by the way: it's also really fun (we had our colleagues who own a WaterRower try it out - and nobody wanted to give it back).

Depending on your level of training and body size, rowing on the FlowRow Balance Board can be more or less challenging: Untrained people and those with a very long upper body will find sitting in the boat much more wobbly than the trained. For the latter, the training effect only becomes noticeable after rowing for a longer period of time, even if their deep muscles are also properly challenged right from the start.
