Made in the tradition of Willem H. Gispen, the Dutch pioneer of ‘Neue Sachlichkeit’ – the pared-down design movement of the 1920s – we have here a successful adaptation of steel tubing as an exponent of functionality. First listed in a Gispen catalogue in 1933, the basic form is a single piece of steel tubing with the addition of slim, soldered-on rods for depositing guests’ hats. Complemented by coat-hooks, which have been riveted on to the tubing. We offer this coat-hanger in three widths: 57 cm (with 6 hooks), 75 cm (with 8 hooks) and 100 cm (with 10 hooks).
