For these towels, the Finnish weavers at Lapuan Kankurit have adopted a development from Austria: Lyocell (TENCEL™). The cellulose fiber is characterized by high strength and a very smooth, non-irritating surface. Above all, however, Lyocell has an exceptionally high ability to absorb moisture: due to its fiber structure, it absorbs moisture very quickly into the fiber interior and releases it back into the environment just as quickly. A waffle piqué, which combines the properties of lyocell, linen and cotton, is the perfect material for towels in particular: the lyocell optimizes absorbency, the robust linen yarn ensures durability and longevity, the cotton content gives the fabric a soft feel - and the weave itself creates a gently massaging effect when drying.
