This blend gets its strength (or as the roaster says: its power) from the strong roast. It is composed of Ethiopian Sidamo and Sigri Estate coffee from Papua New Guinea. The Dinner Coffee has a fine, lively acidity with notes of citrus fruits, dark chocolate and bergamot.

The van Gülpen coffee roasting plant in Emmerich, the oldest family-run roasting plant in the world, has been dedicated to this stimulating beverage for six generations. Expressive coffee is roasted there with expertise, more than 185 years of experience and enthusiasm. To this day, this is done by hand using a slow and gentle drum roasting process and in small quantities (maximum 60 kg per roasting process - in the industry it is at least 250 kg). Moreover, the coffee is not roasted for stock, but fresh every day, and the quantities ordered are delivered to customers within 24 hours.

All van Gülpen coffee blends are based on Ethiopian highland coffees, which, thanks to their top quality, have largely escaped the price erosion caused by mass production of conventional origins (and which play a major role in determining the price of van Gülpen coffees). In addition, there are other types of coffee from first-class origins in varying proportions. With a great deal of sensitivity during the roasting process, after 12 to 13 minutes in the roaster, coffees are produced that are perfectly balanced in terms of their aromatic and flavor characteristics.

We offer van Gülpen coffee blends as whole beans and ground. The ground coffee with its medium grind is particularly suitable for the hand filter and the "normal" coffee machine. Because the coffee loses much of its aroma during and shortly after grinding, you will achieve the best taste results if you grind it fresh just before preparation.
