With its striking melange look and voluminous, supple ribbed knit, this hat is both visually and functionally impressive. A good half of the yarn is made from alpaca hair in Fibra Superior quality, one of the highest quality levels with the finest and softest hair. The rest is skin-friendly, long-staple Pima cotton from controlled organic cultivation. The wide turn-up increases the warmth function and thanks to the wide, loose ribs, the hat adapts perfectly to the shape of the head.

On the western tip of the Breton peninsula lies the department of Finistère. According to the Roman name, this is the end of the earth. For the Bretons, on the other hand, it is “Penn ar Bed”, the beginning of the world – a reading that does far more justice to the brand “Les Racines du Ciel” (i. e., the roots of heaven). Nathalie Goyette and Christian Tournafol founded the Quimper-based brand. The two have been producing elegant, feminine and timeless women’s fashion since 2005. Besides aiming at high-quality standards, Les Racines du Ciel’s declared entrepreneurial goal is to promote artisanal traditions and products and thus preserve jobs in impoverished rural areas. They choose their production locations correspondingly.
