Two flexible, bendable steel springs are attached to its reliably sturdy cast aluminum handle and are inserted into the space between the cork and the bottle neck. Once tilted, the springs hold the cork securely - at least secure enough for you to pull it out of the bottle in its entirety (and with a little care).
