The keychain is doubly strong: the 3.4 mm thick horse leather - the famous Shell Cordovan - promises a long life, it is so strong that it can hardly be bent. Attached to the leather strap with saddler's seam is a solid shackle made of brass (5 mm thick), which is normally used for horse bridles, here it secures the brass key ring.
