This beautiful utensil makes its grand entrance as soon as the walnut season begins in September and the first ripe fruits fall from the trees. Walnut meets walnut, birds of a feather flock together: the body of the classic threaded nutcracker is carved out of the wood of the walnut tree, complete with thread, on the lathe. All surfaces are smoothly sanded, so that the natural coloring and grain of the wood comes into its own. The nut to be cracked is placed in the belly of the nutcracker - in the oval recess in the middle - and the thread is then operated to free the fruit from its shell with well-dosed force. A brass plate attached to the end of the thread helps you do this.
