Every Day Is a New Day
Every day is a new graphic experiment: A tear-off calendar by Dutch graphic designer Karel Martens (b. 1939) featuring 365 individually designed, vibrantly colored date pages for the year 2027. Each number is a standalone typographic composition, making every calendar page a unique graphic work of art.
The numbers are not created on a computer but stem from the renowned typographer’s characteristic working method: First, Martens prints monotypes using letterpress with found metal molds and typographic elements. The analog prints are then digitized and processed into the calendar pages. EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY is far more than a traditional planner: it celebrates each day as a fresh creative beginning.
