These kitchen aprons are designed to match the striped table linens from Tarta Gelatina. The color combination is created by the patch pocket and tie straps featuring red and pink stripes on the green-and-blue-striped apron. And as if that weren’t enough to confuse (or delight) you with stripes: The long apron is green-and-pink striped, while the patch pocket and tie straps feature red-and-light-blue stripes. If you’re having trouble deciding, just ask yourself whether you prefer a short apron or a longer one with a bib, an adjustable neck strap, and a ruffle at the bottom hem.

The stripes in the plain-weave cotton fabric are woven; the use of natural-colored yarn in the warp and dyed yarn in the weft creates the slightly lighter heathered tone. The design also features a special detail: A thicker yarn woven in at wider intervals forms a grid-like pattern over the stripes, lending the colorful ensemble a sophisticated lightness. The pocket is applied to match the pattern, and a topstitch down the center divides it into two compartments.

Behind Tarta Gelatina is a creative designer duo from Barcelona. Founded during the quiet hours of the pandemic, Paz Perczyk and Marcel Rodríguez turned a simple idea into a small, exquisite label—with the goal of bringing color and cheer into the home. They’ve succeeded. Tarta Gelatina’s home textiles, household goods, and accessories are characterized by their cheerful array of colors and bold patterns. All products and designs are created at the company’s headquarters in Barcelona and manufactured in small batches—with care and largely by hand—in European and Indian workshops.
