There are two basic types of shoe polish: hard wax paste (from a can) and emulsion cream (from a tube). The latter contains more water as a solvent and a lower proportion of wax; it has a more fluid consistency, is therefore easier and quicker to apply and does not need to be polished as thoroughly as hard wax paste. This, in turn, should always be applied sparingly and the leather then polished intensively - it remains soft and breathable; the shiny wax film is also more resistant than that of an emulsion cream.

There are few things in our daily lives that are exposed to such intense internal and external stresses as the shoes we wear every day. It's amazing that a shoe can last as long as a well-made one can. The only requirement: little but regular care, which can be perceived as a chore or a respectful ritual.
