The name “percale” comes from the Persian word “pergalah,” meaning “cloth”; it is woven in a plain weave but with a higher thread count than other cotton fabrics. Only when the thread count exceeds 180 threads per inch (2.54 cm) may the fabric be called percale. This percale has a thread count of 300 threads per inch, making it exceptionally fine. With a weight of 123 g/sqm, it is also light and airy. Thanks to its cool feel and smooth surface, percale is particularly popular for summer bedding.

It is woven and manufactured in Portugal. The fabric is made from certified organic cotton, which is spun into Nm 40 yarn and dyed before weaving—the stripes on the fitted sheet are woven (not printed). The fitted sheet features an all-around elastic band and fits mattresses up to 30 centimeters high.
