Whether used as an emergency seat or a side table in use, this archetypal oak stool catches the eye because of its handcrafted details. The connection of the three turned, downward-tapering legs to the seat is done in a tried-and-true manner: wedges are hammered into the end grain of the legs, which are inserted and glued through the seat, noticeably increasing stability. Then the overhang is sawn off and the entire seat surface is sanded over. This visible joint is familiar, for example, from the classic British Windsor Chair; in this context it is referred to as a "wedge joint". Manufactured the stool in a workshop in the Black Forest.
