Metalworking, as Königsmünster Abbey describes it, may sometimes be physically demanding: These filigree stars do not show the effort. They are made of solid brass and do not conceal their sharp points, yet they look as lively as if they had actually sprung from a spark.

Every single one of these handmade stars is a small work of art, carefully cut, bent and shifted by the metal designers at Königsmünster Abbey. With a twinkle in his eye, Father Abraham calls the construction "intelligently bent sheet metal". Initially laser-cut precisely from sheet brass as a coherent field of stars, the material surface is then carefully polished. The further work process demonstrates the mastery of the metal designers: while individual stars are usually arranged along an axis and shifted against each other, here the bending axes lie in the prongs of the two outer star frames themselves. The choreography of the "triple fold" is precisely predetermined - it ultimately creates these small stars. Finally varnished so that the brass does not develop a patina, they radiate their sparkling Christmas magic, for example as a ballet of stars hanging from a branch in the window, where they can also be combined with the large brass star of the abbey. They also reflect the light of the candles impressively from the Christmas tree, and even as individually arranged stars they add to the festiveness of your table decorations or gift wrapping.
