General Information
From the Square to the Cube.
Space is a scarce commodity in Japan. Many dwellings are less spacious at ground floor and spread vertically to save floor space. These utensils transfer this principle into the interior (such as a small kitchen). You don’t have to place them next to each other; you can assemble them into a stable stack varying in height.
Japanese Porcelain Containers.
The porcelain paste is poured into plaster moulds. The following rest phase gives the mass time to set and dry. After that, each item is individually detached from the mould by hand, deburred and carefully checked for its quality. At the end of this process, all objects get a transparent glaze and fired. We source the white hard-paste porcelain from a manufacturer in Arita, a town on the southernmost of the Japanese islands. The city and its craft industries have been familiar with the production of porcelain since the early 17th century. You can clean the porcelain in the dishwasher.
