With its loose twill linen weave, this scouring cloth is porous and robust enough to pick up any dirt on the floor. Linen is hard-wearing, will absorb, and just as quickly shed a lot of moisture, which is why it dries faster than cotton. The smooth surface of the linen fibres – they are unbleached and undyed – ensures that the linen cloth is naturally anti-bacterial and dirt-repellent, so it’s easy to clean, too.
By all means, before using the scouring cloth, wash it. It will receive its “cleaning power” in the process: Washing it will reinforce the surface structure of the linen fabric. The type of weave and the high degree of shrinkage that occurs in the first wash (up to 9% shrinkage) will provide the fabric with a dependable non-slippery surface so you can bear down on stubborn patches of dirt. The longer the cloth stays in service, the softer and more absorbent it becomes. It’s made in a Swedish mill, a company you might recognize from the dishcloths that we offer in our range.
