This ceramic pot contains a patented aluminum burner that holds metal-wrapped, everlasting glass-fiber wicks. These wicks do not burn down and do not need to be replaced; they constantly draw in some of the melted wax from the pot and burn it with a steady flame. The pot itself is made of heavily fireclay-coated and sintered ceramic; wax scraps from candle holders or burned-down candle stubs (made of paraffin, stearin, or ceresin—beeswax is generally unsuitable) are suitable for refilling. The feet integrated into the bottom ensure good ventilation, and heat transfer to sensitive surfaces can be ruled out.

In this small version, the Schmelzfeuer® is suitable for use both indoors and on patios and balconies. It burns with a clean, soot-free flame, which, however, offers only limited wind resistance.
