This fragrance ball made from Swiss stone pine wood, which is known for its tart, spicy scent, comes from Switzerland. Notes of pine, lemon, vanilla and conifers give the essential Swiss stone pine oil a fresh, clear, woody aroma that many find particularly pleasant and soothingly relaxing. To intensify the scent of Swiss stone pine or to freshen it up again after a long period of time, the scented wood comes with Swiss stone pine shavings and pure essential oil. Simply fill the wood shavings into the wooden ball and then add five to ten drops of Swiss stone pine oil.

The Swiss manufacturer Berg & Kraft uses Swiss stone pine wood from South Tyrol for the scented ball and obtains the Swiss stone pine shavings from the Engadine. The essential Swiss stone pine oil also comes from South Tyrol and is of organic quality.

The Swiss stone pine (Pinus Cembra) or stone pine is an ancient tree species from the pine family (Pinaceae). It has been growing for more than 7,000 years, even under barren living conditions, but nowadays only in alpine regions, where the harsh climatic conditions at 1,300 to 2,300 meters above sea level and temperatures of around -50 °C hardly affect them. On average, the trees live up to 400 years, with some exceptions even up to 1,200 years old. They can reach a majestic height of up to 35 meters and a diameter of around 1.5 meters. Due to their rare occurrence - in the area around Mont Blanc, in the Valais Alps, the Engadine, in Tyrol and South Tyrol, in the Central Alps and partly in the Carpathians - the number of trees to be felled is regulated by the local forestry authorities in order to safeguard the natural population. However, many Swiss stone pines also fall due to natural forces such as avalanches, lightning and storms.
