The Kähler company made during more than 130 years a habit out of taking the most famous artists of the time under its wings. With the 4th generation of the Kähler family, the history of the company as a family business ended in 1974. In 2008, the architect Frantz Longhi took over and started a new phase for the Kähler brand. Just a part of the production comes about in the company’s ceramic workshops today; however, the brand has maintained its focus on contemporary design and ceramic handicraft tradition.
