The black hose with the wavy yellow line, the famous Goldschlange. It's the product of a very time-consuming process. The soul (i.e. the innermost layer) of the hose is made of natural rubber extruded directly on a mandrel (a tapered spindle). This foundation is wrapped with strong cord, covered with a rubber jacket and wound with a fabric tape. The final vulcanization seals all the layers in a homogenous hose wall which is kink and shock proof. Even at fluctuating temperatures, this hose wall will withstand pressures up to 30 bar. Goldschlange hoses have been the undisputed quality items of choice for industry, landscape gardeners and demanding private garden owners since 1930. Rubber hoses are expensive, and Goldschlange hoses are even more so. But then again that only makes sense because it will be the last hose you will have to buy.
