This ring from the Pforzheim-based jewelry manufacturer Guthmann is a true archetype. No wonder, since it is literally reduced to the “essence of rings”: A minimalist, comfortable band made of 925 silver, semicircular on the outside and straight on the inside, complemented by a sweeping crown setting that holds a sparkling brilliant-cut rock crystal with delicate prongs. A ring cannot be any less—and yet any more—than this. Guthmann’s customers agree: that is why this ring design has remained unchanged in the collection for decades.

Making high-quality crafted jewelry affordable for as many people as possible - with this in mind, goldsmith Martin Guthmann founded his jewelry manufactory in 1906. Today, run by his great-grandson in the fourth generation, the family business still produces entirely in the jewelry and gold city of Pforzheim. In the manufactory, rolled, stamped, drawn and cast parts are assembled by hand into small series. Among other things, old jewelry forms and ornaments from the company's own history are incorporated into the design: they are cast and - using historical manufacturing techniques - transferred to our time.
