Tasty classic
Rillettes or "lard meat" is a French cooked sausage specialty that is well-known as such, but rarely available here. Here is a classic preparation made from fresh pork, finely minced and seasoned with salt and herbs.
Sausage pâtés from Normandy
The Trappist diet is still meatless today. However, this has not stopped the monks of Bricquebec, who once had a large dairy farm with cheese production, from adding a butcher's shop to their farms, where typical rural French sausage specialties are produced. The meat from their own farm is processed there without the addition of flavor enhancers or nitrite curing salt. The pâtés are masterfully seasoned - the most important prerequisite for producing a good cooked sausage alongside the quality of the meat. The reusable swing-top jars close very tightly, so you may have to use a little force to open them.

Storage and preparation instructions:
Store at room temperature. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume within 48 hours.
