General Information
It was all the wine's fault
In particular, the Palatinate wine, which is drunk in the region from such glasses, either neat or diluted with mineral water to make a spritzer - usually from the larger glass, which holds half a liter and is passed from hand to hand (and mouth to mouth) in a wine-swilling atmosphere. If the prospect of sharing is less appealing, you can enjoy your drink on your own from the smaller glass, which holds a quarter of a liter. The shape of the glass is characteristic, as are the "dubbe", the "dots" that give the glass its name, which are inserted into the still soft glass mass in the mould and, as circular dents, give your fingers a good grip when you bring the glass to your mouth.
