Earl Grey is probably the classic of British tea culture par excellence. Legend has it that it was created when tea chests collided with barrels of bergamot oil on a voyage to Europe in heavy seas. The apparently contaminated tea was given as a gift by Earl Charles Grey - and soon became so popular for its taste that it has been produced on purpose ever since. The key to the taste of a good Earl Grey is the use of natural bergamot aroma and bergamot peel. This is the only way to give the tea its tangy, fruity notes. Cornflower blossoms are added to our Earl Grey, giving it a slightly floral note that harmonizes well with the bergamot oil and the robust, malty body of the black tea. This black tea is a special blend for Manufactum, consisting of a Rwanda Rukeri OPA (Orange Pekoe A) and a Darjeeling FTGFOPI (Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) First Flush. Copper-colored in the cup, our Earl Grey is a refreshing and invigorating taste experience. It is noteworthy that all the ingredients used come from controlled organic cultivation.

This importer and bottler approaches the selection of suitable teas with high taste standards - starting in the respective country of origin. Ingredients:

Storage and preparation instructions:

Pour hot water at 100 °C over the tea and leave to infuse for 3-4 minutes, depending on the desired intensity. Store at max. 20 °C and dry.
