The heavily textured bark of the oak is among the most recognizable of native trees. Guthmann has transferred it to this 925 silver ring, giving the wide band a distinctive appearance. The ring’s surface was also treated with Parisian noble oxide, a palladium-containing chemical bath that creates a durable layer in shades of anthracite and black on the silver. The raised relief structures of the ring were then polished, while the lower areas remain shaded by the elegant oxide layer, creating a striking light-dark contrast. The inside of the ring is smoothed and brushed, making it comfortable to wear.

Making high-quality crafted jewelry affordable for as many people as possible - with this in mind, goldsmith Martin Guthmann founded his jewelry manufactory in 1906. Today, run by his great-grandson in the fourth generation, the family business still produces entirely in the jewelry and gold city of Pforzheim. In the manufactory, rolled, stamped, drawn and cast parts are assembled by hand into small series. Among other things, old jewelry forms and ornaments from the company's own history are incorporated into the design: they are cast and - using historical manufacturing techniques - transferred to our time.
