The distinctive outer fabric of this parka is “Vent Canvas 200.” This material, woven and finished specifically for Knowledge Cotton Apparel, is made from long-staple Pima cotton from certified organic cultivation. The tightly woven fabric is breathable in dry conditions, yet windproof. When exposed to moisture, the fibers swell and compact the fabric, making it water-repellent—both due to this effect and thanks to an additional DWR treatment (DWR stands for Durable Water Repellent). Beneath the fabric lies an insulating filling of wool and polyester, held in place by longitudinal and transverse quilting stitches that run through the lining. Knowledge Cotton Apparel also equips the parka with many functional details. A flap with concealed magnetic buttons covers the distinctive two-way zipper. The padded hood features a drawcord for adjusting the fit, and the cuffs are finished with internal, windproof knit cuffs. Two combined side and flap pockets with concealed magnetic buttons, as well as two interior pockets with vertical zippers and a mesh interior pocket with a snap button, provide storage for small everyday items.

The owl in the logo of the Danish label Knowledge Cotton Apparel stands for wisdom and knowledge, two elements that are key to the company's history and brand philosophy. Back in 1969, Jørgen Mørup and his father founded a small textile company in the Danish town of Herning and already started to focus on the subject of sustainability. At the end of the 1980s, the two began making their garments from ecologically produced cotton, becoming Denmark's green pioneers, as it were. The next logical step in 2008 was the foundation of Knowledge Cotton Apparel, this time with son respectively grandson Mads as part of the team, a label that unites the company's heritage with a contemporary, sustainable corporate strategy. Today, Knowledge Cotton Apparel stands for casual, sporty menswear, usually made from GOTS-certified organic cotton or "Happy Sheep Wool". The label also works with recycled PET bottles, which it shreds, melts down and spins into yarn to make a durable, water-repellent fabric for jackets.
