Tellason describes the cut of these jeans as "straight tapered". This means that the trouser legs are cut straight down to the knee and taper slightly from there to the hem. This cut is ideal for people who like a comfortable fit but don't want such a wide leg. The higher rise also contributes to comfort. The striking 14.75-oz denim comes from Kaihara Mills in Japan, one of the top addresses for such fabrics. The leather patch comes from Tanner Goods in Portland/Oregon. The trousers are fastened with a button fly and button, the pockets are arranged in a classic 5-pocket style, with the back pockets reinforced and the pocket bags made of extra heavy cloth. The trousers are sanforized, so they shrink only minimally in the wash.

Behind Tellason, based in San Francisco, are Tony Patella and Pete Searson. Both bring a fair amount of experience to the table: Before they started their own business a few years ago, they had already spent two decades in the clothing industry as made-to-order clothing manufacturers. Since then, they have made a good name for themselves with their brand. Inspired by found pieces from the working world, they create particularly authentic garments. When making up garments, they like to use tried and tested fabrics, especially textiles full of character, for example, denim from Japan or weaves used for guild clothing from Germany.
