The upper leather of this two-layer, open-edged belt is a smooth, slightly matt, vegetable-tanned cowhide leather from the back of the cowhide. It comes from a small, specialized tannery in Italy and has a natural, pleasant feel. The lining leather is a vegetable pit-tanned leather from the Kobel tannery in Kellinghusen. An all-round decorative seam gives the belt an additional visual accent. Thanks to its purist, classic appearance, the belt with a silver-coloured galvanized brass buckle is a versatile companion for numerous looks.

Founded in 1963 by Erich Kreis, the Offenbach-based leather manufacturer Kreis specialized in belts early on. Today, Bernd Kreis, the founder's son, runs the business. He only uses full-grain leather: classic Boxcalf and pit-tanned cowhide from Germany, Saddle from England and the legendary horse leather Shell Cordovan from the Horween® tannery in Chicago. And Kreis is one of the very few who still cultivates the elaborate art of three-layer belt construction for some of his handmade belts.
