In terms of cut, this is clearly a parka that has proven itself in wind and weather for decades. Ecoalf has it produced in a detailed design: The striking two-way zipper is covered by a wide panel with concealed magnetic buttons, and the padded hood has a drawstring to adjust the width. The parka itself is also padded, while the lining with horizontal quilting seams ensures that the warming padding stays in place. The sleeves are equipped with shaping seams, making them more comfortable to wear. Well-fitting knitted cuffs in the sleeve openings keep out the wind and cold. Two set-in flap pockets with magnetic buttons, two slanted slit pockets with zippers and two inside pockets with vertical zippers can hold small items for everyday use, plus a security pocket with a zipper in the sleeve. The non-slip outer fabric, the voluminous padding and the smooth lining are made entirely from recycled polyester, making the parka a warming lightweight. And thanks to two shoulder straps on the inside, the parka can be worn like a rucksack when not worn.

The Spaniard Javier Goyeneche has found a personal way to counter the waste of raw materials in our throwaway society – with creative ideas. In 2012, his label started producing fashion from recycled fibres. Then he initiated the revolutionary Ecoalf Ocean Project: More than 3,000 fishermen along the Spanish coast enlisted to help recover plastic waste from the sea. Goyeneche has the residues transformed into high-quality yarns for clothes, shoes and accessories. A similar project started in Thailand in 2017. Recycling all-natural textile fibres, namely cotton and wool, is another objective on Ecoalfs to-do list. Finally, the label mastered the challenge of finding new uses for old car tyres.
