The Kräutergarten Pommerland in Lassaner Winkel just outside Usedom was founded in 2001 on the site of a former agricultural production cooperative (LPG). The large arable areas and light soils are ideal for growing herbs. Most of the work is done by hand, both weeding and harvesting the herbs; only the preparatory field work is done by a tractor. However, not all herbs can be grown on site, partly due to the climatic conditions and partly due to the capacity limits of the herb garden. In these cases, the operators work closely with other farms that grow the relevant herbs according to their specifications.

We bring you a tea blend from Kräutergarten Pommerland, which shows that a herbal tea can also be refreshing without mint. We have left its ingredients - strawberry leaves, lemon balm, lemon verbena, lemon thyme and rose petals - as large as possible in order to preserve the aromas they contain as much as possible. To make a full-bodied, aromatic tea, crumble about two fingertips of the herbs per cup immediately before brewing, pour boiling water over them, cover and leave to infuse to taste.
