Guthmann crafts this striking signet ring in a solid, full-metal design made of oxidized 925 silver, giving it a distinctive look. The seal motif depicts the basic form of the heraldic lion, shown in profile and standing upright on its hind legs while gazing straight ahead. The head, paws, and tail are emphasized, while the body is strongly slenderized. The lion appears in this form on the coat of arms and flag of Flanders. This seal motif of the Flemish lion is set into the ring head—the upper, flat front surface—as a recessed relief. The outer contour of the ring head forms a rectangle with strongly rounded corners in a so-called cushion shape, one of the classic seal shapes. The ring shoulders—the lateral transitions from the wide ring head to the narrower ring shank—support the weight of the ring head and visually balance it. The ring shank itself is polished on the inside, ensuring a comfortable fit.

Making high-quality crafted jewelry affordable for as many people as possible - with this in mind, goldsmith Martin Guthmann founded his jewelry manufactory in 1906. Today, run by his great-grandson in the fourth generation, the family business still produces entirely in the jewelry and gold city of Pforzheim. In the manufactory, rolled, stamped, drawn and cast parts are assembled by hand into small series. Among other things, old jewelry forms and ornaments from the company's own history are incorporated into the design: they are cast and - using historical manufacturing techniques - transferred to our time.
