These plain napkins are woven on jacquard looms, which makes two special features possible. Firstly, the napkins have two selvedges: they are created when the loom is set up specifically for the respective width of the woven fabric. The weft thread continues endlessly during weaving and is not simply cut off, so that only the upper and lower cut edges need to be hemmed. On the other hand, a different, stronger yarn can be used for the decorative stripe in the middle, making it stand out from the mottled background. The melange tone is created by using different colored yarns: natural-colored linen is used in the warp and colored yarn in the weft. As usual, Lapuan Kankurit only uses linen yarn made from the best European long-fiber flax - with the Masters of Linen® seal.

Lapuan Kankurit achieves this by using only natural raw materials and materials for its textiles. Traditional and newly developed processes are combined in the production process, which is always based on knowledge and careful execution of all work steps, from spinning to weaving and finishing. Lapuan Kankurit produces mainly in its own weaving mill in Lapua. A small part is produced in Lithuania and Finland.
