As elegant as it is casual: this handbag made of strong, vegetable-tanned cowhide leather, a pleasant to the touch material that will gradually take on the typical leather glow, makes a stylish appearance. The handbag owes its design sophistication to the flap, with which the body of the bag folds forward smoothly along a cleverly placed quilting seam and presents the brass-colored zipper as a striking design element. Hidden under the flap is a slip pocket set into the outside, which holds smaller items for quick access. To store your bulkier possessions, fold up the flap so that the zipper opens up access to the undivided bag interior, which is lined with a firm cotton canvas. The narrow shoulder strap, which can be used in two lengths thanks to its clever fastening, is an equally clever detail: To switch from the casual crossbody length to the elegant shoulder length, simply pull the strap from the top halfway through the loops and double it over the shoulder.

Wanny Di Filippo, a true Florentine original who is fashionably committed to "cheerful anarchy", founded Il Bisonte in Pontassieve in 1970. The municipality belongs to Florence, the "cradle of the Renaissance". The metropolis on the Arno, famous (not only) for its masterpieces of fine art, also owed its rise to traditional crafts, above all textile production (wool and silk fabrics) and leather processing. To this day, leather manufacturers are part of the Tuscan city's identity-forming craft landscape - and Il Bisonte is also part of this tradition.

The workshop became famous for its leather goods, the production of which consistently follows the traditional art of craftsmanship. Away from fast-moving trends, the bags, purses and accessories impress with their stylish aesthetics, the natural beauty of the material, durability and repairability. Wanny Di Filippo has now retired from the business, but his philosophy lives on at Il Bisonte. Production facilities and supply chains are limited to a radius of 30 kilometers around Florence. The high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather, fine fabrics and metal accessories that Il Bisonte uses are therefore produced exclusively in Tuscany. Skilled master craftsmen produce leather goods whose quality, from the design to the handmade stitching, tells the glorious story of Florentine craftsmanship.
