Like all Greenbelts® bags, this strong piece is made from the supple yet very strong cowhide leather. And strong is to be taken quite literally here, as the leather bag is designed to carry six boules, each of which usually weighs around 700 grams. Not only is the body made of 2.5 mm thick, open-edged leather - with firm saddle stitching - but also the shoulder strap. It is attached to the sides with two ball-and-socket fasteners so that it can carry the weighty contents - piggy, cloth and measuring tape also fit inside - to any pétanque or boules court without tiring. If you prefer to carry the boules bag like a handbag, you can shorten the strap to the length of a carrying handle. The long parts can then be lowered into the body via slots and do not get in the way.

The riveted strap fastener on the cover also closes with a ball button. Some people may find the design familiar - we have taken our cue from the old Swiss army bags: simple, pragmatically purist, solid and designed purely for the purpose, with those characteristic rivets and ball button fasteners on the straps. The leather bag can of course also be used for a stroll through town or in the evening if you are only carrying the essentials such as your wallet, cell phone and keys.

Founder Rolf Ihmels is behind the Osnabrück-based brand. He has been in the industry for a long time and has his current profession in his genes, so to speak - belts were already being made in his parents' company, which was still operating conventionally. In 2005, Ihmels set up his own brand. His commitment to manufacturing in a way that conserves resources as much as possible is already reflected in the location. The factory is not a new building, but a former joinery for solid wood furniture and obtains its electricity from renewable energy sources. Only vegetable-tanned full-grain cowhide from European tanneries that guarantee all relevant environmental standards is processed into belts and bags right next to the offices. These are solid, honest leathers that do not need to be lined or padded - you can feel, see and smell it in the finished product. And they are leathers that can return to the natural material cycle after use. Ihmels takes the approach that every piece of leather he processes was once the skin of a living being and should be respected and honored accordingly. For this reason, he makes every effort to process the leather in such a way that its value is preserved over a long period of time.

Please note that the bag is unlined, so the velour on the inside may initially give off fluff or rub off, as with other leathers. The dark colour on the outside may rub off on light coloured clothing.
